The Interior Design Program at Palomar College prepares students with the creative, technical, and critical thinking skills needed to enter the design field. The courses in the design program reflect the importance of both the technical skills and general education requirements that are necessary to prepare the student for a career in design.
At Palomar we offer two Interior Design curriculums that enable students enter the design field.
The A.S. degree provides students with an option for a career in design or the requisite foundation for transfer to a four-year college or university.
The certificate provides students with an option for entry-level employment in the design field. For students who have a degree in another major, the certificate provides students with the fundamental and technical skills to pursue a career in design.

Palomar Community College is regionally accredited by ACCJC/WASC. This is the most highly regarded form of institutional accreditation, and that sought by most higher educational academic institutions with comprehensive missions. The regional accrediting commissions set a very high standard for the performance of the entire institution. Not all institutions can meet these standards that require the comprehensive component of general education included in all degree programs.
